android phone won't lock in "north up" position
I'm using an android on my dirt bike with avenza and can't seem to "lock in" north by hitting the compass arrow as I did previously on my iPhone. I have a Moto G Power (2021) and it does lock the orientation, but with the north arrow pointing to about 12:30 instead of true high noon. Also the orientation "jiggles" a bit and I'm not sure if that's the phone, app, or what!

Hi Byron,
I'm sorry to hear you are having problems with the Avenza Maps app. I can look into this issue for you!
To better understand and address the problem, could you kindly provide more details about your device? Specifically, I would appreciate information on the operating system you are using and the version of the Avenza Maps app installed.
Additionally, could you clarify whether you are using a custom map or a map from our Map Store? Is the issue occurring with all your maps or is it specific to a particular map?
Could you also send me a screenshot or screen recording of the app and the error you're seeing? It would be a great help in identifying the problem.
Please email this information to support@avenza.com and we'd be happy to assist with this issue
Juan

TThanks for your quick response to my post. Here’s my response to your questions:Hardware/Software - My Moto G Power is running Android Version 11 (screenshot attached with version)Map - The map is a custom map of our leased land on which we have motorcycle trails near Seattle. I’ve attached screenshots of the north arrow not being up with this leased land map, but also it happens with the US Govt map I’ve attached of the Cle Elum area. Those are the only maps I’ve used so far and the north arrow is not “UP” on eitherCase - no, I don’t use a metal case … and when I ride my motorcycle off road I DO use a plastic waterproof case and the results with it are the same as with no case sitting here at my desk right now.The phone is new to me so I’m just getting used to it. I want to know if this arrow being off is due to the phone or your software, and how to fix it. I’m also wanting to know why the arrow “jiggles” or “wiggles” when I press it, as if It’s moving toward “north up” but resisting movement and coming back to the wrong direction repeatedly when I pull my finger off the button. Is there some feature of this phone or your software that has “fixed” this tilt to the north arrow and the correction process to “straight up” only works with my finger kept on the arrow, and then returns to tilted when I let go?
