Exporting a Layer

I add new pins to a layer on a weekly basis then export into QGIS. I add a new layer each week and make it the current layer and switch visibility off onthe others. The pins then get added to this new layer. However, when I export Avenza exports all the pins from all the other layers as well, not just the ones on the new layer. Have I missed a setting somewhere?

  Thank you for your post! It sounds like it may be set to export all features. Please make an adjustment before exporting (Custom option under the heading “Data”).   Hi Edgar. I saw the 'Custom' option but when I clicked it it said "0 selected" and didn't move further.
