If you see an error message indicating that something went wrong with our servers when trying to download maps from your Download History or when trying to access the Map Store, this typically points to a connection issue between the Avenza Maps app and our Map Store servers, not an actual server outage.
To resolve this error please follow the steps below to refresh your connection to the Map Store.
- Open Avenza Maps
- Navigate to your "My Maps" tab
- Tap on your profile (head/shoulders icon) and choose "Sign out"
- Once signed out, please sign back in and the error message should be gone
If you encounter an issue where you do not see the "Sign out" button please try the following workaround.
- Begin by doing a full restart of the app by force closing it
- Re-open the Avenza Maps app and navigate to the Map Store
- Look for any paid map and attempt to purchase it (you don't actually need to purchase it)
- You'll be redirected to store.avenza.com in your device's browser.
- On the website, please sign into your Map Store account by tapping on the head/shoulder icon
- Once you're signed in, tap on "Open in App" on the website, this should redirect you back to the app's sign-in page
- Sign-in again and you should no longer see the error message
- Proceed with retrying your download!
