Importing a Map
1. Download the Toronto Transit Commission PDF linked above onto your device
- You can import maps from a cloud storage system like Google Drive, your device storage, Dropbox, or from the web. Make sure you know where you are saving your map so you can easily access it from the app
2. Open the Avenza Maps app and sign in to your account if not already by clicking on the head/bust icon at the top of the screen
3. Click the plus sign in at the top right corner of the screen and select Import.
4. Select ‘From Storage Locations’ (or if you used Dropbox select that option) and navigate to the folder in your device containing the downloaded map
5. Once you select the map, it should start automatically downloading in the app
6. When the Map is downloading, make sure you have a solid internet connection and enough available storage on your device. Also, make sure you remain on the screen while the maps download, don’t close the app or let your device turn off/sleep
Avenza maps supports the following formats for importing maps:
- Geospatial PDF (.pdf)
- TerraGo GeoPDF (.pdf)
- GeoTIFF (.tiff, .tif)
- JPG (.jpg) - Must be packaged with either a TFW & PRJ or JGW & WKT in a ZIP file
Any maps that are custom imported maps need to be backed up because they will not transfer over to a new device, they will have to be reimported to any new device you use.
