Map Bundles allow publishers to package multiple maps into a single download for users on the Map Store. This is great for uploading a map with insets, or a group of maps that work well together. You can create a map bundle by doing the following:
Select the Maps for the Bundle
Select maps on your vendor site by clicking the checkboxes to the left of the maps to be bundled. The search filter can be used to show only the desired maps in the maps list first. Once the maps are selected, click the Create a map bundle option from the Actions menu at the top left of the page:
Vendor site homepage with Actions button and checkboxes highlighted
Actions button dropdown with Create a map bundle highlighted
Edit the Bundle Details
Once a bundle has been created, the details page will load. This page is identical to the edit product page for single maps.
For information regarding filling out map details, please refer to this support article: Adding Maps to the Map Store.
Unlike single maps, bundles will not generate their own previews or thumbnails and will need to be added manually. However, you can download thumbnails and previews from any other map that has been uploaded and use those for the bundle. The following are the requirements for custom preview and thumbnails:
Preview #1, #2, #3 -
- JPG format
- Less than 1MB in size
Large Thumbnail -
- JPG format
- Less than 1MB in size
- Length and width 233 pixels x 233 pixels
Small Thumbnail -
- JPG format
- Less than 1MB in size
- Length and width 95 pixels x 95 pixels
Download as Collection - At the very bottom of the Edit Product page will be a new checkbox, for Download Bundle as Collection. This is checked by default, meaning that when a user downloads your bundle, it will have the same functionality as user-created collections. A collection allows for the user to automatically shift from one map to another while in the map view based on their location/movement, rather than having to open each individual map manually.
Submit for Review - A bundle undergoes the same review process as standard map reviews. If any of the contents in the bundle have errors, the entire bundle will be rejected.
Please note that if the individual maps are versioned, the maps within the bundle will not automatically update. The bundle needs to be versioned in order to update itself with the versioned maps.
