The Notifications tab at the top of the vendor site shows all the automatic notifications Avenza has sent related to your vendor account. The notification will say whether the map has finished processing or instead has failed to process. These notifications are also distributed via email; however, they can end up in your spam folder. Common error messages are:
Could not Detect Georeferencing
If the map is not georeferenced properly it will fail processing. Verify that the original file has georeferencing information and is in a projected coordinate system. You may need to change the coordinate system as our processing servers may not be compatible with it. Also please ensure the map has only one georeferenced frame, is one page and is not protected by a password.
Processing Time Limit Exceeded
A map will timeout after an hour of processing. This error is likely to occur if the map is very large in file size or paper size. Try reducing the resolution of the map or splitting it into multiple smaller maps, which you can convert into a map bundle later. For more information on how to create map bundles, please consult the article: Creating Map Bundles
Internal Server Error
Sometimes, the map can fail to process due to issues with our processing server. There is no easy remedy for this error, so it's best to wait a few hours and try processing again or contact Avenza Support for further assistance!
Error
This is a general error message and the possible reasons for the error may include:
- There are special characters or multiple periods within file name of the map
- An error occurred in your cartography software when exporting the map
